The nominations for the Academy Awards were announced this morning which officially kicks off one of my favorite times of the year. As a movie buff, I really love checking out the different nominees and drawing my own conclusions.
Most notably, Christopher Nolan didn’t get his Best Director nomination for “Inception”, which is quite surprising. I love whatever he does and was pretty dang surprised to see the Coen’s re-make of “True Grit” trump Nolan’s dream-within-a-dream world of “Inception”.
“The King’s Speech” leads all with 12 nominations. I’ll let you see it and draw your own conclusions, but I’m hoping it does not get all 12.
I’m a big fan of “Social Network”, “The Fighter”, “Black Swan”, and (shocker) “Inception” and hoping to see big things for these 4. I also just recently saw “127 Hours” over the weekend and am more impressed with Danny Boyle than I’ve been before.
Check out the full list of nominations here. Draw your own conclusions. Disagree with me if you must. Ha! In any case, get out, watch the movies and get excited about Oscar season!
Cheers,
Eric
